Are You a Young Carer?
Elfrida Rathbone Camden is working in partnership with Family Action to support young carers by providing advocacy on behalf of young carers and their families.
What is a Young Carer?
Are you:
- under 18 years old
- providing care to another family member who has a physical illness or disability, mental health problem, sensory disabilty, learning difficulty or disability, or has a problem with drugs or alcohol
- providing a level of care that would normally be undertaken by an adult?
If you can asnwer yes to all of the above, then you are a young carer and can access the Young Carers’ Service. You can download a brochure with details of the service here: Young Carers’ Service brochure
How can I access the service?
Families can self-refer, or be referred by a social worker, GP, health visitor, teacher or others involved in their care. Referrals must be made directly to Family Action, who can be contacted via phone, fax or email:
